ROLE: The Quality Assistant is responsible for supporting and assisting with compliance of our quality system, Repair Station Manual, and Quality Control Manual under 14 CFR Part 145 as it pertains to the maintenance of aircraft parts and components, as well as supporting all quality, purchasing, and engineering personnel and processes as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.



  • Monitor and maintain the approved supplier list and approved contract maintenance providers list.
  • Lead or assist with internal audits and support FAA, customer, and other external audits.
  • Perform inspections
  • Help ensure Quality System compliance
  • May be required to manage calibration systems.
  • Review work orders and maintenance records for completeness and accuracy.
  • Must be capable of writing and reviewing preventive and corrective actions.
  • Assist with the FAA-approved training program, including coordinating and providing training to personnel.
  • Prepare and maintain training documents and training records.
  • Organize and maintain Quality department files and folders, both electronic and hard copy.
  • Help implement company procedures as required by the Director of Quality.
  • Assist with revisions to the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, and capability list.
  • Work with minimal supervision in a team environment
  • Performs other related duties as required.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION



  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred


EXPERIENCE



  • Experience in an FAA Part 145 repair station or aviation maintenance environment preferred.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS OR ABILITIES



  • Language/Communication: English, Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office required (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Must be able to navigate company intranet to find industry specifications and company policies & procedures, Must be able to add documents and perform inspection / quality system transactions within the company's quality system software.
  • Reasoning Abilities: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills, strict attention to details and ability to multitask and prioritize as necessary, with minimal supervisory direction. Must be flexible in handling multiple tasks. Continuous Improvement Mindset a must.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Must work well within a team environment and independently.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Working knowledge of 14 CFR Parts 43 and 145, FAA Form 8130-3, and aviation maintenance records preferred.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; talk or hear; and frequently required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate.
