Position Summary
THIS IS A TIME-LIMITED APPOINTMENT WITH AN ESTIMATED DURATION OF 3 YEARS.
The Research Project Specialist will provide day-to-day coordination, oversight, and management for a federally funded clinical trial evaluating a nutrition intervention for adults with pancreatic cancer. Our research lab focuses on the development and implementation of nutrition interventions, such as dietary coaching, nutrition counseling, and peer support, for adults receiving cancer treatment.

The Research Project Specialist will coordinate recruitment and retention of study participants, including screening potentially eligible participants, consenting participants, educating participants about study procedures, scheduling study assessments and activities, sending approved reminders, and following up with participants as needed. This position will also coordinate with clinic staff, oncology providers, the study dietitian, and research team members to support recruitment, intervention delivery, participant follow-up, and study implementation.

The Research Project Specialist will support study documentation, data management, and ongoing monitoring of study progress, including documentation in OnCore, REDCap, and study files; tracking recruitment, enrollment, retention, intervention completion, and assessment completion; and preparing study progress updates for the PI and research team. The position will also assist with IRB-related documents, protocol amendments, continuing reviews, recruitment materials, and other regulatory or study documentation.

The Research Project Specialist may also assist with participant interviews, qualitative and quantitative data management and analysis, preparation of reports and presentations, and manuscript writing. The position will attend lab meetings and study team meetings and may meet with patients in clinic when needed for recruitment, enrollment, or follow-up.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the field assigned and one year of related training or experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Management Preferences
Experience in health-related clinical research.
Experience recruiting research participants.
Knowledge of IRB processes and human subject research requirements.
Experience with REDCap or similiar research systems.
Experience supporting research projects.
