GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for all activities associated with Scheduling, Pre-Registration, Insurance Verification, Authorization, Pre-Certification and Patient Financial Counseling services performed in the center. Works with administration, clinical leadership and physician offices to ensure all non-care pre-arrival services occur to maximize patient and physician satisfaction. Develops departmental policies and procedures and determines departmental effectiveness and efficiency.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:





  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.






  1. *Manages all phases of the Patient Service Center. Manages activities and functions including human resource management, communication, staff competency, planning, performance improvement, budgeting and corporate compliance and staffing.






  1. Develops and manages capital, operational and human resource budgets based on strategic service, best practices and organizational standards.






  1. In collaboration with the Patient Access Director, sets direction and vision for services to be performed within the center.






  1. *Leads Scheduling Assistant Manager, Patient Service Center Assistant Manager and staff to ensure efficient processes are followed to complete desired events in a timely and accurate manner prior to care being rendered.






  1. *Leads the assistant managers to execute a proper staffing model to maximize work effectiveness and ensure the department achieves high levels of physician, patient and internal customer satisfaction.






  1. *Collaborates with leaders across the health system, administration and physician offices to drive high levels of efficiency and effectiveness in areas of responsibility.






  1. In collaboration with the assistant manager, ensures the Enterprise schedule system is fully leveraged and appropriately utilized.






  1. *Monitors reports to track history of department workload and determine staff efficiency and productivity.






  1. *Works with management team to develop departmental procedures and processes to ensure customer satisfaction.






  1. Reviews, comprehends and interprets governmental regulatory and third party contracts and regulations to ensure appropriate organizational response and adherence.






  1. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.






  1. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned.






  1. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of two (2) years of experience supervising or managing employees required. Prior clinical or medical procedure scheduling experience required. Experience in registration and other revenue cycle operations preferred.
