Summary

The Accounting Manager provides leadership and daily oversight of the organization's accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and the integrity of all transactional accounting functions. This role oversees accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger activities, and the month-end close process while supporting the timely and accurate delivery of financial information.

This position requires a detail-oriented and proactive leader who can effectively balance day-to-day operational demands with broader financial stewardship and process improvement initiatives. The Accounting Manager will help drive consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across accounting processes while ensuring compliance with GAAP, audit requirements, company policies, and regulatory standards. Working closely with the Controller and cross-functional business partners, this position will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity, supporting strategic decision-making, and strengthening the organization's overall financial operations.

Compensation and Benefits Offered

Actual base salary offered to the selected applicant will be based on their work location, qualifications, job related skills, relevant education, and training experience.

Base salary range Minimum $130,000 - Maximum $147,000

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Close Process



  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process.
  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger.
  • Monitor financial transactions and resolve accounting discrepancies.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements and management reports.


Transactional Accounting Operations



  • Supervise Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Staff Accounting functions.
  • Establish and monitor workflows to ensure timely processing of transactions.
  • Improve efficiencies in invoicing, collections, vendor payments, and cash management.
  • Review customer billing and credit activities as needed.


Internal Controls & Compliance



  • Maintain and strengthen internal control procedures.
  • Support SOX compliance initiatives and document accounting processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Coordinate internal and external audit requests and provide supporting documentation.


Manufacturing & Inventory Accounting



  • Support inventory accounting, standard costing, and variance analysis.
  • Review inventory reconciliations and cycle count results.
  • Assist with cost accounting processes and manufacturing financial reporting.
  • Partner with Operations and Supply Chain teams to improve inventory accuracy.


Team Leadership



  • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
  • Establish performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching.
  • Cross-train team members to ensure business continuity.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement.


Process Improvement



  • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline accounting processes.
  • Participate in ERP system enhancements and implementations.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and standard operating procedures.


Qualifications

Education



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.


Experience



  • Minimum 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
  • Manufacturing or aerospace industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems (D365 preferred).


Technical Skills



  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Experience with general ledger, payroll, AP, AR, and fixed asset accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with month-end close and audit support.
  • Familiarity with internal control and SOX environments.
