Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance & Accounting Summer Intern to join our Controller's Office. This internship provides hands-on exposure to corporate accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and month-end close processes within a dynamic business environment.

The intern will work closely with accounting and finance professionals to support accurate financial reporting, maintain compliance with company policies, and contribute to projects that improve financial processes and controls. This opportunity is ideal for students interested in pursuing careers in accounting, controllership, audit, financial reporting, or corporate finance.

Key Responsibilities



  • Assist with monthly and quarterly close activities, including journal entry preparation.
  • Support balance sheet account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Help maintain documentation supporting financial reporting and accounting processes.
  • Participate in the review and analysis of financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist with accrual calculations, prepaid expense schedules, fixed asset tracking, and other accounting functions.
  • Help prepare schedules and supporting materials for internal and external auditors.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed.
  • Support special projects related to accounting automation, reporting enhancements, and process optimization.
  • Prepare presentations and summaries for accounting and finance leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.


Qualifications

Required



  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Coursework in Intermediate Accounting, Financial Accounting, Auditing, or Cost Accounting.
  • Strong interest in accounting, financial reporting, audit, or controllership functions.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Preferred



  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Workday, or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Experience with Power BI, Alteryx, or other reporting and analytics tools.
  • Previous internship, leadership, or project experience.
