Glass Fiber Production Technician
Location: Sturbridge, MA

Pay Rate: $27.00 - $29.00/hour

Schedule: 4:00 AM or 5:00 AM start time

Four 10-hour shifts per week | Occasional 12-hour shifts

Job Duties


  • Set up, operate, and monitor glass fiber draw towers
  • Perform process adjustments to maintain product quality
  • Build and assemble precision fiber billets and multi-fiber structures
  • Conduct inspections using microscopes and measuring equipment
  • Read blueprints, assembly drawings, and work instructions
  • Complete production documentation and data entry
  • Maintain material traceability and inventory accuracy
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment and process issues
  • Follow ISO quality standards and safety procedures
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area



Qualifications


  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with precision assembly and inspection processes
  • Basic computer and data entry skills
  • Ability to work at elevated heights
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing detailed work under magnification
  • Experience with glass fibers, draw towers, cleanroom manufacturing, microscopes, gauges, or calipers is preferred
