Job Summary:

The Microsoft Cloud Operations Engineer will join the team responsible for the Firm's Microsoft 365 collaboration, reporting, and business intelligence platforms. This position requires a strong SharePoint Online and Power BI professional who can design, develop, support, and continuously improve SharePoint solutions, Power BI reports and dashboards, and related Power Platform capabilities. The Microsoft Cloud Operations Engineer will work closely with IT teams to translate operational, collaboration, and reporting needs into secure, scalable, and supportable solutions that improve data visibility, collaboration, and Firm-wide productivity.

Job Functions:

  • Designs, develops, maintains, and supports SharePoint Online sites, document libraries, lists, pages, metadata, permissions, and information architecture.
  • Manages the OneDrive Environment, ensure backup and endpoint replication is happening, triages errors and works with internal stakeholders to ensure security standards are maintained.
  • Sets up and maintains Entra ID SSO.
  • Works with Cloud Infastrcuture Team to help build out, inspect and manage CoPilot agents.
  • Helps build and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, dataflows, and workspaces to provide accurate, actionable business intelligence.
  • Works closely with the IT Operations Director to:
    1. Develop, implement, and maintain governance standards for SharePoint Online, Power BI, and related Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
    2. Improve service delivery for collaboration, reporting, and analytics platforms, including support processes, lifecycle management, and continuous service improvement.
    3. Ensure appropriate security, permissions, data access, retention, and compliance controls are applied to SharePoint and Power BI solutions.
  • Develops and supports Power Platform solutions, including Power Automate workflows and Power Apps integrations, where appropriate to streamline business processes.
  • Connects Power BI to approved data sources and assists with data modeling, cleansing, transformation, refresh scheduling, and report performance optimization.
  • Researches and evaluates new Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Power Platform, and reporting capabilities; identifies and recommends solutions to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Provides Tier 3 escalation support and participates in problem triage for SharePoint, Power BI, and related collaboration services as needed.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of related IT experience with a particular focus on SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 collaboration services, Power BI, reporting, or business intelligence in a professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related technical field is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft certifications related to Microsoft 365, Power Platform, Power BI, SharePoint, or Azure are preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of SharePoint Online architecture, including hubs, modern sites, document libraries, lists, metadata, content types, search, permissions, and governance.
  • Experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards, including data modeling, Power Query, DAX, semantic models, refresh schedules, workspace administration, and row-level security.
  • Experience with Power Platform capabilities, including Power Automate, Power Apps, connectors, and integration with SharePoint and Microsoft 365 services.
  • The ideal candidate will also have proven experience working with several of the technologies currently in use at the Firm, including:
    1. Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange, and Entra ID.
    2. Power BI Service, Power BI Desktop, gateways, deployment pipelines, and workspace management.
    3. Power Query, DAX, SQL, and relational data sources such as Microsoft SQL Server.
    4. SharePoint permissions, sensitivity and retention concepts, document management, and collaboration governance.
    5. PowerShell, Microsoft Graph, or other automation and administration tools.
    6. Business process automation using Power Automate and SharePoint-based workflows.
    7. Data visualization, report design, and executive-ready presentation of operational metrics.
  • Demonstrated analytical capability in solving new and complex problems.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently, while having good judgment as to when consultation is required.
  • Ability to set priorities and complete diverse assignments on a timely basis.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical concepts to business stakeholders.

The anticipated pay range for this role is listed below and represents our good faith and reasonable estimate of the salary range for this specific position at the time of posting. In addition, this role is eligible for a discretionary bonus based on performance. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on job-related, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to qualifications and experience, education, external market data and consideration of internal equity.

    $125,000 - $160,000
