About the RoleAtrius Health, part of the Optum family of businesses, is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct clinical support to providers and help deliver high-quality, coordinated patient care. Schedule: Rotating opening and closing shifts within operating hours of
8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Monday-Friday, with a
rotating Saturday and Sunday schedule of 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities
- Escort patients to exam rooms and support efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.
- Prepare patients for exams, including obtaining vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, height, and weight.
- Assist clinicians with routine clinical procedures and department-specific testing.
- Update and maintain accurate patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR), including medications, allergies, and medical history.
- Perform waived point-of-care testing such as strep, urine, HCG, and glucose testing.
- Communicate visit updates to patients and help address routine questions or concerns.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalency certificate from an accredited institution or governmental unit or a Medical Assistant Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Assisting or graduation from a Medical Assistant certification program.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification, if required by specialty.
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a clinical or customer service setting, as determined by the department (associate or bachelor's degree may substitute for experience).
- Computer proficiency, including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience or demonstrated ability to learn new healthcare technology systems.
- Knowledge of reagent stability and storage.
- Understanding of testing procedures and factors that influence test results.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range:
$16.00 - $29.00 per hour
