Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking Data Warehouse Developer in the Department of Enterprise Applications and Research Computing (
EARC) - Data Management within the Office of Information Technology (
OIT).
Under the direction of the Director of IT, Consulting Application Developer, supports the university's Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (
FDI) platform and the strategic Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (
OCI) initiatives. The role is responsible for data warehouse architecture, data modeling, and integration of Oracle Fusion applications data and other data sources. Designs and implements secure data integrations utilizing data that resides within the Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (
ADW). Supports designing
OCI access policies to organizational roles and enforcing scalable integration architecture using Oracle Integration Cloud (
OIC), aligning access policies to organizational roles, and enforcing enterprise data governance standards to support data access and reporting needs.
The position works closely with project teams implementing new Oracle and third-party cloud enterprise systems to ensure those platforms are effectively integrated with the data warehouse and aligned to institutional reporting needs, including both centrally developed and unit-level self-service reporting.
The role also supports migration of legacy on-premises data warehouse environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (
OCI) and Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (
ADW), including the development of custom schemas and the expansion of enterprise data assets across multiple business and system domains.
This position collaborates within the centralized Office of Information Technology (
OIT) Data management and Reporting team, across other
OIT teams, and with university administrative and campus departments to deliver secure, scalable, and well-governed enterprise data solutions.
Among the key duties of this position are the following;
- Data Warehouse Architecture and Data Modeling.
- Participate in cloud modernization and data platform evolution initiatives, including data pipeline migration, optimization, and adoption of new analytics technologies.
- Develop and optimize data models that support high-performance analytics.
- Establish consistent and reusable data structures across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Ensure alignment with business reporting and analytics requirements.

Qualifications
| Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field is required.
- Seven (7) years of experience in data management, data engineering, data architecture, or enterprise analytics, including recent hands-on work with cloud-scale data platforms, modern integration frameworks, and data modeling is required.
- Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.

- Hands-on experience with modern data architecture, specifically cloud warehousing, ELT/ETL modernization, semantic modeling, and governed data products and services.
- Strong SQL and data modeling skills, including conceptual, logical, and physical modeling; performance tuning; normalization; and optimization.
- Experience with ETL/ELT tools and pipeline automation.
- Strong understanding of enterprise systems, preferably Oracle ERP/HCM and their related data reporting needs relying on the data warehouse, data models, and datasets.
- Proven ability to collaborate across IT and business departments-to meet data warehouse, data governance, and support reporting data needs.
- Excellent technical documentation, analytical and research skills.
- Proven expertise in implementing row-level data security (data filters, data access sets, or similar constructs).
- Hands-on experience with identity and access management, including role-based access control and policy design.
- Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) in an effort to synchronize data between the ADW and on-premises resources.
- Familiarity with Oracle Data Integration (ODI) platform to help support ETL workflows.
- Experience with Oracle Identity Cloud Service (IDCS) or OCI IAM.
- Familiarity with Fusion security model concepts (privileges, roles, data security policies).
- Experience with data mapping analysis and design.

| Preferred Qualifications |
- Demonstrated experience in implementing data warehouse and related data management, and data architecture, in a large complex environment.
- Familiarity with higher education administrative systems, including Oracle ERP/HCM, Banner, Salesforce, and related platforms.
- Experience implementing or modernizing cloud data platforms with Oracle FDI and/or equivalent.
- Experience implementing new data platform capabilities into production is strongly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, AWS/GCP Data Engineer, Oracle data management certifications, or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP).
