Purpose
The Credit Analyst I supports the credit and collections process by managing customer accounts, coordinating with internal departments, and ensuring timely and accurate billing and payment application. This role maintains strong communication with customers and project teams, prepares lien waivers and assists with billing packages, and performs accounting tasks to ensure compliance, resolve discrepancies, and support the financial health of construction and materials projects.

  1. Actively supports the achievement of the company and business unit's goals and objectives by performing collections for the Credit Department to assist in minimizing potential losses to the Company.
  2. Collaborates across company and supports consistent technical practices.

Technical / Specialty Area

Contributes to the smooth operation of the Credit Department by providing administrative support to Teichert business unit (s) which may include some or all of the following:
  1. Responds to customer inquiries professionally, researches and resolves account discrepancies, and serves as a communication liaison between customers and internal departments to ensure timely issue resolution.
  2. Set up new customers and job accounts in the Vista ERP system in coordination with project teams.
  3. Manage collection of construction receivables by coordinating with Project Accounting on billing and conducting regular follow-ups with customers to monitor payment status and resolve outstanding balances.
  4. Collaborate with internal departments to gather missing documentation or resolve issues that delay payment.
  5. Maintain strong cross-functional relationships, particularly with construction operations, to support billing and collections processes.
  6. Validates daily cash payment variances and review aging reports to ensure accurate application of adjustments and prioritize collection efforts for construction and materials accounts.
  7. Assist in the submittal of monthly billing packages, including initial and follow-up lien waivers, in alignment with construction billing cycles.
  8. Issue updated lien waivers to reflect received payments and maintain compliance with project and legal requirements.
  9. Performs a range of routine to complex accounting tasks, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to critical deadlines.
  10. Monitor customer accounts to identify early indicators of financial risk and recommend adjustments to credit terms as needed.
  11. Collaborate with operations and legal teams to evaluate project-specific risks, including contract terms and lien rights.
  12. Maintain accurate and up-to-date credit documentation and account records within internal systems.
  13. Assist with periodic credit reviews, audits, and the preparation of reports for senior management.
  14. Stay informed on industry trends, construction market conditions, and payment risk factors to support sound credit decisions.

Role Qualifications & Requirements

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field or an equivalent combination of training and related experience.
Experience & Industry Expertise:
  • 1-3 years in a Commercial Credit environment or an equivalent combination of technical training and related experience.
  • Knowledge of Construction industry a plus
  • Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation from NACM or ability to obtain required.
Specific Job Requirements:
  • Must be proficient in computer software skills including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Experience with Viewpoint Vista or a similar ERP system preferred.
  • Must be proficient in ten-key.
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to make sound decisions based on analysis, experience and judgment.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to problem-solve issues to resolution.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure, remaining composed and professional.

Equipment Used:
  • Company issued computer, telephone, personal protective equipment (i.e. safety glasses, hearing protection), office machines
Physical Demands & Work Environment: The physical demands and work environment characteristics are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.   • Physical: Sitting for long periods of time working at the computer or driving to job sites. Job site visits require walking on uneven ground, climbing, bending, stooping, and crawling in confined or enclosed spaces. Some lifting of materials and equipment up to 25 lbs. Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. May work long hours during peak seasons.
  • Work Environment: Exposed to the conditions of job sites which can include loud noise, dust, fumes, and extreme weather conditions prevalent at the time. May work various shifts or hours, including early mornings, dusk or evenings. Typical office environment with adequate temperatures and lighting, low levels of noise.

BASE SALARY RANGE:
$75,833.00 - $106,167.00
The range displayed reflects the range the company reasonable expects to pay for the position. The actual base salary is subject to variation due to the role, level, geographic location, relevant education, training, or experience, among other factors.
