Position Summary

Spencer Construction is seeking a motivated and dependable Paid Intern to gain hands-on experience while supporting daily operations and ongoing projects. This internship provides an opportunity to apply classroom knowledge in a professional environment, develop industry-specific skills, and learn about the construction industry.

The intern will work alongside experienced team members, assist with assigned projects, and gain exposure to real-world construction processes, business operations, and project management practices.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist team members with daily tasks, projects, and administrative responsibilities.



  • Support project coordination, documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.



  • Help maintain accurate project files, spreadsheets, and other company records.



  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and project discussions.



  • Learn company procedures, safety requirements, and industry best practices.



  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding assignments and progress.



  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and within established deadlines.



  • Maintain a professional attitude and demonstrate a willingness to learn.



  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an accredited college, university, trade school, or relevant educational program.



  • Interest in construction, engineering, business, or a related field, depending on the internship assignment.



  • Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.



  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.



  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.



  • Dependable, punctual, and willing to take direction.



  • Willingness to learn new processes, systems, and technical skills.



Work Environment

The work environment will depend on the assigned department and project. Interns may work in an office, construction site, or a combination of both. Field assignments may require working outdoors in varying weather conditions and following all applicable safety requirements.


Compensation and Schedule

  • Pay: $20/hr.



  • Schedule: Part-time or full-time, based on department needs and the intern's availability.



  • Duration: semester or summer, with the possibility of extension based on business needs.
