Custodial Specialist

Join the K-State Housing and Dining Services team to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming residence halls and facilities. This position supports the comfort and well-being of students, faculty, staff, and guests by keeping spaces clean, sanitary, organized, and presentable. Duties may also include providing housekeeping services for university guests and conference groups.

Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Perform routine cleaning tasks, including taking out trash, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors.
* Clean and disinfect surfaces, fixtures, and restrooms to maintain sanitary conditions.
* Help keep residence halls and other facilities clean, organized, safe, and welcoming.
* Provide basic housekeeping services for university guests and conference groups as needed.
* Assist with minor maintenance and other cleaning-related tasks.
* Work cooperatively with team members to complete daily assignments.
* Perform other duties as assigned, including assisting in other areas or covering for absent employees.
* Attend training sessions, conferences, or workshops as needed.

Housing and Dining Services is a large, self-operated auxiliary department serving more than 5,000 students that call the K-State campus home. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some experience in cleaning or housekeeping.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
• Learn the operation and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines and other janitorial equipment.
• Ability to work harmoniously and effectively with others and to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Additional Role Information:

• Bloodborne Pathogens training to be completed upon employment.
