Position Title: Quality Engineer
Wage: Based on Experience Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions is seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing foundry environment. This individual will work closely with production, engineering, and other departments to identify quality issues, reduce scrap, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure products meet customer specifications. Quality Engineer Responsibilities: - Analyze scrap and develop techniques, procedures, and processes to reduce scrap and improve overall product quality - Collaborate with employees across departments to develop and implement methods that support continuous quality improvement - Review high-scrap tooling and identify opportunities for changes to gating and other processes to minimize scrap - Evaluate customer parts for manufacturability and provide feedback on necessary design or process changes to ensure successful production - Work with cross-functional teams to develop cost-reduction proposals for internal and customer use - Participate in new customer meetings and conference calls as needed - Assist with resolving customer quality issues related to manufactured products and identify tooling changes that could improve product quality - Read, understand, and interpret engineering drawings and complex blueprints - Relate engineering drawings and prints to raw material selection, outside processes, and manufacturing requirements - Identify and resolve potential discrepancies between engineering prints, production travelers, and manufacturing processes - Coordinate with the Quality Manager regarding worn tooling issues, including communicating the costs and timelines associated with necessary repairs or replacements - Maintain productivity and performance while working under deadlines and occasional extended schedules Requirements for Quality Engineer: - Ability to read and write in English - Excellent communication and organizational skills - Strong attention to detail - Ability to exercise sound judgment and make informed decisions - Proficiency with computers and standard office applications - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines - Ability to communicate and work effectively with all company departments - Commitment to working safely and professionally while maintaining a clean work area and wearing appropriate protective equipment - Willingness to cooperate with supervisors and coworkers and contribute to a team-oriented environment IND345 Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions has the resources of a large company but the feel and personalized customer service of a small one.
