Application Window Open date: June 12, 2023 Most recent review date: Tuesday, Sep 3, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Dec 12, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description Associate/Full level Professor of Surgery - Chief, Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery The Department of Surgery, University of California, San Francisco is seeking outstanding candidates for the position of Chief, Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery. Candidates must be board certified in Thoracic Surgery and have fellowship training in Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery. The Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery is comprised of three programs: Cardiac Surgery, General Thoracic Surgery, and Heart and Lung Transplant. The Division also has a fully accredited ACGME training program in Cardiothoracic Surgery that consists of rotations in Adult Cardiac Surgery, Pediatric Cardiac Surgery and Thoracic Surgery. The selected candidate will be a national leader in Cardiothoracic Surgery and will have an exemplary record of clinical and research accomplishments. Candidates will be expected to lead the clinical effort in Cardiothoracic Surgery, to participate in patient care, and be responsible for a basic and clinical research program. Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $169,200 - $360,600.
