The incumbent must have experience in biological-related microscopy research, strong interpersonal skills to work closely with investigators, students, postdoctoral fellows, visiting scholars, and staff members, and strong time management skills. The incumbent also must have strong mentoring and leadership skills. In general, the BIDC Director's activities will include, but are not limited to: maintenance and management of the Biological Imaging Development CoLab's (BIDC) microscopes and support equipment; training and assisting new users on microscopes, techniques, and data analysis; assisting in experimental design and analysis pipelines; direct supervision of two or more employees; oversight of CoLab's budget including salaries and materials; coordinating team members for new initiatives and projects; and the mentoring and career development of co-workers. The BIDC Director is also responsible for keeping the facility current with trends and needs of the microscopy community. This is accomplished either through the raising funds and purchasing commercial equipment, designing and developing technology, or adding new support resources for the research community. The incumbent will report directly to the Director of the CoLabs and the BIDC Steering Committee. Required qualifications:

See Table 13A for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $88,000-$234,400.
