University of California, San Francisco Department of Medicine-Hematology/Oncology

Assistant/Associate/Full Clinical Professor, Non-Malignant Hematology

The Division of Hematology/Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco is seeking to expand its growing section of non-malignant hematology. We are recruiting new faculty members whose clinical, teaching, and clinical/translational research activities focus on non-malignant hematology. We are particularly interested in individuals with a track record and interest in thrombosis or bleeding disorders. It is expected that the candidate will develop a clinical research program in an area of their interest. Fellowship training in non-malignant hematology is required. Areas of academic interest that fit particularly well with current goals include, but are not limited to, thrombosis and malignancy, bleeding and thrombosis in women, congenital bleeding disorders, platelet disorders, and immune-mediated hematologic disorders. Interdisciplinary research that leverages the breadth and strength of UCSF is encouraged. Applicants who have been successful in obtaining peer-reviewed funding are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates must be ABIM eligible or certified in Hematology.

The faculty member will be expected to participate in the teaching and training of Hematology and Oncology fellows, residents, and medical students as well as contribute to the division's annual scientific conference. The Division of Hematology and Oncology has a large fellowship program with a strong record of training fellows who have gone on to full-time academic positions as well as leadership positions in biotechnology companies. Clinical activities will include attending on the hematology consultation service and in our outpatient non-malignant hematology clinic. Clinical opportunities are also available in our federally funded Hemophilia Treatment Center.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
