The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in the In-Residence or Adjunct series depending on qualifications and interests. The new faculty member is expected to develop an independent research program in the area of radiopharmaceutical chemistry. Demonstrated experience in the radiosynthesis of new radiopharmaceutical agents is preferred. The candidate will work collaboratively with faculty within the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging and other departments at UCSF to advance the development of new molecular imaging agents, from early tracer development to first-in-man clinical studies. Additional areas of desired, but not mandatory, expertise include new synthetic and radiosynthetic methodologies, GMP production, automation, and small molecule chemistry. Specific areas of expertise with regards to disease focus are flexible and could include neurological, oncology, cardiology, or other clinical applications. Other responsibilities include close interaction with basic scientists and clinical researchers in planning, conducting, and evaluating data. Faculty are required to teach residents, fellows, medical students, and masters students. Candidates must have a PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Radiochemistry, Bioengineering or Related Field, and with postgraduate or postdoctoral training and research experience since obtaining their PhD, preferably at least two years combined. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
