The goal of the Dunn lab is to understand how visual information is parsed and processed in the retina and to determine how this information is perturbed in disease. The area of specialization entails colony maintenance, genotyping, experimental support, lab organization and management and provide technical assistance in research experiments. The candidate will handle mice and be familiar with or eager to learn molecular biology, cell biology, and imaging techniques. The Specialist will work closely with the principal investigator and other members of the laboratory and is expected to be familiar with a given procedure but must be highly motivated, willing to learn, and very attentive to details to benefit from instruction. The expectation is for the candidate to achieve independence in regular activities and maintain detailed records. Required Qualifications:

Appointees in the Specialist series will be expected to engage in specialized research, professional activities and do not have teaching responsibilities. Specialists are expected to use their professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions, and may participate in University and Public Service.
