Job Summary The HVAC Specialist Sr. position at Phoenix College (PC) involves performing journey level HVAC work in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and related equipment. Responsibilities include providing lead oversight for HVAC Specialists and other workers in the maintenance of buildings and plants, as well as performing specialized HVAC work. The main focus of this position is on the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and related equipment. Qualified candidates for this position should have a strong understanding of HVAC systems and equipment, as well as experience in performing journey level HVAC work. This includes knowledge of installation, maintenance, and repair techniques. Overall, the HVAC Specialist Sr. role is crucial in ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of HVAC systems at PC, both at the main campus and satellite campuses. Essential Functions 30% - Provides lead oversight for HVAC Specialists and other workers in the maintenance of buildings and plants, performs journey level and specialized installation, maintenance, and repairs of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment, troubleshoots complex systems for damaged or worn out components, repairs or replaces parts, prepares tubing, piping, joints and fittings for new installations or equipment repairs, cuts, reams, bends, and connects tubing and/or pipe 30% - Conducts inspections of systems for leaks, abnormal noise, and electrical defects, reviews testing to determine required repairs, performs equipment installations including evaporative coolers, diffusers, condensers, controls and other parts related to HVAC systems, performs maintenance and repairs on air handlers, pumps and other related equipment 30% - Provides assistance and oversight with construction projects affecting HVAC equipment or systems; performs and oversees preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, prepares cost estimates, initiates requisitions and/or makes purchases, maintains tools, equipment and work site in a clean and safe working condition 10% - Reports technical issues and problems to the assigned supervisor, performs other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications
