Summary of Position
Under general supervision of designated Manager/Supervisor, install, maintain, and repair building roofing systems (slate, asphalt shingle, rubber, composites, built-up, standing metal seam, etc.). Responsible for providing excellent customer service and producing the highest quality assessments and roofing repairs. The UNH Roofer will be the lone roofing expert in the Facilities Operations Division, and as such, needs to communicate standards and assessments that lead the University investments within the roofing inventory. Provide expertise in the roofing field, and in coordination with our Asset Management group, evaluate and sustain the UNH roof replacement program in an efficient/cost effective manner. Participate in design and construction oversight of roofing projects.

1. High school education or equivalent
2. Valid motor vehicle operator's license
3. A combination of education, certifications, and work experience equal to 8 years, in all aspects of roofing, including but not limited to: slate, asphalt shingle, EPDM, composite, BUR, standing metal seam systems.
4. OSHA 10 certified
5. Ability to operate our UNH lift and understand safety procedures. Obtain and maintain an aerial lift certification.
6. Knowledge of applicable building codes/ordinances.
7. Knowledge of methods, tools and hazards of the trade. Knowledge of roof safety arrest and restraint systems.
8. Ability to inspect roofing materials, identify deficiencies/sources of leaks, determine malfunction and make necessary repairs.
9. Knowledge and ability to use computers, tablets, smart phones, and software systems to perform work duties.
10. Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of this job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather conditions for prolonged periods of time.
11. Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary.
12. Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written, to effectively communicate with customers, team members, contractors and supervisors.
13. Desired certification: Drone certification/license

Duty/Responsibility

Keep current on all required safety trainings, code updates and any additional certifications required. Demonstrate leadership qualities during work activities Seek out professional development opportunities that will benefit the University and your technical skills to stay current and knowledgeable of best practices and future trends and technologies.


Duty/Responsibility
Service Calls and Customer Service: Respond to service calls and requests related to the repair, maintenance of campus roof systems. Ensure work is of the highest quality while meeting all building codes and safety requirements. Investigate leaks via interior examinations, take measurements and translate that to a roof top investigation to find roof deficiencies/solutions. Use work management software to maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and time expended. May participate in the curtail rotation and as well as responding to emergency situations, including during off hours, if the need arises.


Duty/Responsibility
Preventative Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance and repair/replacement work on roofing systems. Visually inspect roof anchor systems. Will update records in the work management software and provide equipment condition assessments. May participate in project management meetings regarding building renovations and new building plans. May also be tasked to write "scopes of work" for outside roofing contracts and may be responsible to oversee the completion of that work.

Construction Project Work: Will participate in design and construction oversight of roofing projects. Provide written documentation to UNH Facilities Project Managers when requested in support of UNH roofing projects
