Context: UCSF is one of the nation's top medical research institutions, and the UCSF Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is the largest department of epidemiology in the University of California system. Our department provides a supportive and fertile academic environment for innovative research, with special opportunities for research on population health and health equity and collaboration with researchers from other departments and UCSF schools. Our department has primary responsibility within UCSF for delivering training in the methods of epidemiology, biostatistics, health data science, public health, and health services research. We teach many types of learners, including medical students, fellows, junior faculty, and students in our two master's programs (Health Data Science and Clinical & Epidemiological Research) and in our PhD Program in Epidemiology and Translational Sciences. Duties: In Residence faculty members in our department are expected to lead an independent, extramurally funded research program; to teach, train, and mentor our students, fellows, and junior faculty; and to take on significant departmental and university service. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $161,000-$342,900.
