A leading and well known Manufacturing organization located in Akron, NY is looking for a Cost Accountant to join the team ASAP! Please see additional details below: Permanent position FULL TIME ONSITE Location: Akron, NY Salary: $85k-$95k Duties: * Analyze the cost of raw materials, labor and overhead to determine the cost of production. * Develop budgets and forecasts based on cost analysis to help guide financial planning and decision-making. * Investigate and explain differences between actual costs and budgeted costs, identifying areas for improvement and/or costing-saving opportunities. * Monitor inventory levels and valuation, ensuring accuracy in inventory records, and implementing inventory control procedures. Lead efforts on the annual physical inventory and cost-roll exercises. * Identify inefficiencies in cost accounting processes and recommend improvements to streamline operations and increase efficiency. * Prepare financial reports, including cost reports, profitability analysis and variance reports, for the management team. * Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company policies related to cost accounting practices. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Attendance is an essential function of the job. o set up new materials and perform cost rolls, on an as-needed basis o manage the manufacturing work order process and analyze material, labor, and overhead variances o analyze and maintain current cost models o assist with month-end and year-end close, such as preparing journal entries and account reconciliations Vaco by Highspring values a diverse workplace and strongly encourages women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, people with disabilities, members of ethnic minorities, foreign-born residents, and veterans to apply.
