Hours/Shift: Full-Time-40hrs per week, rotating shifts, days of the week vary, on-call required. Position Overview: This position will be assigned to the Air Conditioning Shop, As aGeneral Maintenance Mechanic with Sentara, you will perform general maintenance as directed and as necessary on all aspects of building structure and systems to include floors, walls, ceilings, lighting, HVAC, transportation systems, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other items. We are looking for a candidate who has a positive attitude, is willing and eager to learn, and can be trained easily. Our ideal candidate is an individual who has a high work ethic, is dependable, reliable, team-oriented, and has patience, compassion and understanding of what it takes to work in a hospital environment around patients. Education Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent Experience Required: One year of Work experience in general maintenance such as facility or residential maintenance, contractor, carpentry, laborer, or painter.
