What You Can Expect

As our Business Development (BD)Senior Advisor you will be located in an area with easy access to a large airport and will directly focus on development of District Heating and Cooling Systems and Major Campuses, within the Continental United States. Our business is making it possible for campuses (cities, universities, airports among others) to devote their resources to their core missions. The Senior Advisor is responsible for developing district energy project opportunities from origination to successful closure by coordinating commercial, financial, legal and technical activities. The opportunities may involve green field/brown field development, public-private partnership, concessions or acquisition of existing district energy assets or a portfolio of assets. The Senior Advisor is expected to closely collaborate with the rest of the business development team and all internal specialists creating a tangible contribution to ENGIE's expansion in the district energy market.




  • Daily you will coordinate and work with a team of experts during the due diligence and development phases to assess business opportunities. Disciplines include technical, operations, finance, legal, human resources, transition, IT, procurement, insurance, and other relevant functions
  • You will originate new opportunities. Using your network, you will create new contacts to create opportunities. Interact with different market participants (consultants, investment banks, equity funds, engineering companies among others) to identify opportunities. You will lead customer meetings, proposal processes & contract negotiations, working with the different internal teams, understanding the customers' needs and the different stakeholders. You will continue to build ENGIE's competitiveness with financial, technical, and contractual optimizations
  • Ensure strategic alignment with ENGIE's Headquarters and the Energy Solutions Global Business Unit
  • Manage the internal approval process, including presentations to Local Management and the Global Business Unit
  • Collaborate with the Transition Management team to ensure a smooth transition into operations are an integral part of the business development process

What You'll Bring



  • You will have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in engineering, business, or a related field
  • You will possess a minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in operations, finance or business development in a related field
  • You will be experienced in district heating and cooling energy systems or power generation design, development, and construction
  • You will have gained experience in commercial, negotiation and structuring skills
  • You possess an Entrepreneurial mindset - you excel in creating clarity and driving results, while working in an independent and self-guided manner
  • You have developed excellent verbal and written communication skills, speaking and presenting effectively to senior executives and other stakeholders
  • You have formed strong negotiation skills and create effective interactions with executive level decision makers
  • You have demonstrated financial, business, and contractual acumen, and social intelligence

  • Must be available to travel as required by business opportunities
  • Must possess a valid U.S. driver's license/clean driving record
  • Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to use a company issued computer
  • Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
  • Working Environment:

    • Position requires combination of office environment setting and some exposure to outdoor environments
    • Sitting and standing for periods of time, limited amount of climbing and crawling could be required in some circumstances





Compensation

Salary Range: $146,300.00 - $224,135.00 USD annually

This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate.

ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.
