This job administers psychological tests to child, adolescent and adult inpatient and outpatient populations, scores tests, compiles results, writes behavioral observations, administers and scores computer-based assessment procedures. Maintains testing supplies and computer services and participates in psychology related activities such as research, projects, etc.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree.

Preferred - Bachelor's degree in psychology or related field.

Work Experience

Required - None.

Preferred - 1 year of experience with cognitive and behavioral assessments.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance.

  • Knowledge of principles, methods and procedures for diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of physical and mental dysfunctions.

  • Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally.

  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work for extended periods of time on a one-to-one basis with a diverse patient population.

  • Critical thinking/analytical skills.

  • Time management and organizational skills and ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain an effective clinic.

Job Duties

  • Interviews patient and documents demographic information, chief complaint, current medications, and other information.

  • Administers and scores psychological test batteries to children and adults.

  • Writes detailed observations of patient's behavior during testing.

  • Records test scores, behavioral observations and billing times and reviews medical charts.

  • Processes reports for psychological tests, social histories, etc.

  • Maintains testing materials and computer scoring services.

  • Accompanies psychologists to and participates in interdisciplinary clinics.

  • Assists in section/departmental research.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

Physical and Environmental Demands

The physical essential functions of this job include (but are not limited to) the following: Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects; occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
