Site EH&S Lead

Day & Zimmermann (D&Z) Site Lead, EH&S: Reports directly to the Regional Manager, EH&S, while sharing accountabilities for day to day performance with D&Z Site Leadership. Primary responsibilities are to provide direction on technical matters and assist field leadership with ensuring D&Z's core value of safety is visible in the behaviors of the organization.

Typical Responsibilities and Commitments

*Field coaching / observations on standards and behaviors

*Trend analysis to understand drivers to both positive and negative performance

*Assist Site Management with outage safety planning to ensure compliance and lessons learned are not repeated

*Assist Site Management with incident investigations to capture and communicate lessons learned

*Periodic audits to ensure compliance

*Case management of all injuries, regardless of severity, to ensure proper care of employee and proactive business management of outcomes

*Serve as a liaison with internal and external client on matters of safety programs, case management and safety performance

*Consult with operations on technical matters such as fall protection, confined space, industrial hygiene, equipment operations, hot work, etc.

*Periodically participate in client's Corrective Action Program (CAP)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

*Working knowledge of federal, state and local regulations related to safety, as demonstrated through either certifications or education.

*Fundamental working knowledge of Human Performance (HU) principles as demonstrated through previous experience.

*Ability to research complex issues and clearly communicate results

*Skilled as a presenter, instructor and communicator, including written and verbal

*Able to perform cognitive trending when presented with data

*Skilled as an influencer when working with leadership and craft

*Fossil plant experience required

Qualifications

*College degree in safety or related field is preferred. May be supplemented with relevant and practical experience of at least 5 years.

*OSHA 510/511, their equivalents or degree in safety

*The ideal candidate will hold professional certifications from industry recognized organizations such as Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or similar

*Experience in an operational fossil power plant required.

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $54,000 - $154,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contractual elements, etc. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and other factors.

Badge Requirement

Will need to meet all training, drug/alcohol, and background screening elements required to obtain unescorted access at an operating power plant.

Physical/Mental Requirements

Must have visual acuity to perform tasks, and ability to stand, balance, stoop, walk, climb, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, lift, pull/push, perform repetitive motions, grasp/manual dexterity, hear and talk to perform this assignment. Must also have capacity to think, concentrate and focus over long periods of time, ability to read and write complex documents in English, reason and make sound decisions, and express thoughts orally.
