This position is located at Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

Essential Functions

  • Provide operations & maintenance support for L-band and S-band radar hardware systems.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair various pieces of commercial amd custom hardware.
  • Responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance on the radar
  • Provide support for engineers on implementation of improvement and modernization (I&M) projects.
  • Assist with equipment design modifications, including fabrication, drawings and testing
  • Assist in preventative, corrective and reactive maintenance
  • Maintain current spare parts inventory and procures parts as required
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of maintenance performed
  • Support day-to-day operations to meet radar mission requirements which involves 24 hrs / 7 days a week support.
  • Perform shift work to support operational tasking
  • Adhere to Company safety policies, procedures and program.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills

  • Familiar with transmitter high power systems.
  • Familiar with and able to operate standard electronic test equipment.
  • Ability to read schematic diagrams, wiring lists, and assembly prints.
  • Ability to assist with trouble-shooting issues in the transmitter subsystem.
  • Ability to work well with others in the radar group, including management, to meet mission requirements.
  • Ability to learn and use standard electronic test equipment, including but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters (DMM), and insulation testers
  • Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Good written & verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with common electric and mechanical test equipment and tools.
  • General computer literacy using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Required Experience

  • Associates Degree in electronics, RF, other technical field or a two year technical school, or equivalent military experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years or more experience working in an electronics environment with good electronic knowledge.
  • Desired:
    1. Experience with high power transmitters.
    2. Understanding of RF and Microwave transmitters and receivers.
    3. Ability to perform maintenance on vacuum tubes and high power peak pulsed microwave transmitters.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Willingness and physical ability to work at heights in excess of 50 feet and ability to obtain Climber II training certification within 6 months of hire (local training and testing provided)
  • Willingness and physical ability to carry equipment weighing 50 pounds
  • Flexibility to work non-duty hours, weekends, nights to support specific project requirements
  • Must be able to relocate to the United States Army Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands.
  • This position is UNACCOMPANIED and will reside on the island of Roi.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. passport
  • Valid U.S. Driver's License required.
