JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Reporting to the head coach and is responsible for assisting in the management of all aspects of the baseball program with an emphasis on working with the pitchers.

Job Duties
  • Responsible for serving as an assistant coach in a competitive NCAA Division III baseball program duties include assisting in the area of coaching the pitching staff including, but not limited to, recruiting, organizing and planning practices and game strategies, throwing batting practice, hitting fungos, and other daily practice activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Required travel during the spring will include all away games, and the yearly spring trip to Florida during the time frame of March 7 to March 15, or equivalent dates of Penn State's spring break.
  • Must possess a commitment to high academic standards, and the NCAA Division III philosophy.
  • May require the ability to work in an outdoor environment in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat and cold.

  • Employment with the University for this job will require successful completion of the Pennsylvania (PA) Publicly Available Clearances: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and the FBI Criminal History Background Check.

  • Employment with the University for this opening will require the operation of a motor vehicle as a part of the job duties. A valid US driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.

  • Must be well versed in the sport and have 1-2 years of previous coaching experience.
