Equipment Orthopedic Technician

Job Summary:

As an Equipment Orthopedic Technician, you will deliver, assemble, adjust, maintain, and store orthopedic equipment, soft goods, and other related clinical support equipment.

Primary Duties:

• Delivers various types of orthopedic equipment, soft goods, and other various clinical support equipment to patient care areas.

• Collects, cleans, and distributes medical equipment to inpatient and surgical departments.

• Set up various types of orthopedic tractions per Physician orders (i.e., bulks, cervical, arm and burn tractions).

• Instruct patients on simple exercises, cast care and use of crutches, etc.

• Assist with periodic inventory; may perform rounds to verify usage and proper functioning of equipment. Inform Lead Orthopedic Technician of any inventory shortages.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.

• May require up to 1 year of technical or other specialized training.

• 6 months to 1 year experience (i.e., Orthopedic Technician or Equipment Assistant).
