Mercyhealth, an award-winning fully integrated health care delivery organization based in Wisconsin and Illinois, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our well-established Neurosurgery practice in Janesville, WI.

Opportunity:

  • Provide quality health care services to patients in the clinic and hospital setting under the direction and supervision of department neurosurgeons by performing the following duties in a compassionate and cost-effective manner.
  • Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of examination in both hospital and clinic settings.
  • Administer and/or order appropriate diagnostic tests, laboratory tests appropriate for neurosurgical patients and interpret test results for deviations from normal. Perform therapeutic procedures including suture removal and wound care management.
  • Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, complete discharge summaries, and assist in provision of continuity of care.
  • Assist neurosurgeon with in-patient hospital rounds and emergency department consultations.
  • Perform first-assistant duties in the operating room.
  • May be required to work flexible hours.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
  • Hold valid WI APNP or PA license
  • Other certifications as required
  • Highly collaborative and self-motivated
  • Ability to work very well with neurosurgery team and other partners
  • Strong communication skills when working with patients, patient families, and coworkers
