JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Harrisburg, a comprehensive college of The Pennsylvania State University, invites applications for a research faculty position at the Assistant or Associate rank. This position will enhance and expand research and outreach activities that use evidence-based approaches to influence early childhood education policies. Responsibilities include managing policy-oriented research projects, participating in interdisciplinary collaborations, mentoring students, and disseminating findings to academic and policymaking audiences. This is a term appointment with the possibility of renewal. This is a 48-week non-tenure appointment in one of Penn State Harrisburg's five academic schools, determined by the candidate's expertise and background. The position is supported by the Institute of State and Regional Affairs (ISRA), which unites Penn State faculty and professional staff to conduct research and provide data services in public policy, community planning, information management, and evaluation. Annually, ISRA secures $3-$4 million in sponsored research funding from state, federal, philanthropic, and private sponsors. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to impact research projects that expand research endeavors at Penn State Harrisburg and significantly affect the lives of Pennsylvanians. It also holds the potential for significant career growth and development within the institution. This appointment is initially funded for one year from the start date, with a strong prospect of renewal. The candidate must possess an earned doctorate or terminal degree prior to the start date. The individual will also possess strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills, grant and technical writing expertise, experience in research, public policy, public administration, sociology, data sciences, or related fields, and supervisory experience of staff at different levels. Additional duties include developing relationship management strategies to identify and pursue research opportunities and promote the University's resources and services. Preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of interdisciplinary collaboration and experience working with academic units. Job Description:
