About UC Blue Ash

The Media Communications & Technology Department at UC Blue Ash invites applicants for our Applied Media Communications Adjunct faculty general pool of candidates from which part-time faculty will be selected for the upcoming term (as needed).

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College is one of the largest regional colleges in Ohio and one of the most diverse colleges at the University of Cincinnati. The college is in Blue Ash, Ohio fifteen miles north of the uptown campus, on 135 acres in a park-like setting. We offer primarily associate degrees in career and transition programs, as well as general education courses and technical baccalaureate degrees to approximately 5,100 students. We value excellent teaching and personalized student support to help students achieve their goals, whether the goal is to enter a career or to continue education. Job Overview

Part-time faculty must be able to teach a variety of freshman and sophomore level Applied Media courses, depending on candidates' expertise. Courses to be staffed include Media Design Foundations I & II, Photography I & II, Introduction to Photojournalism, Video Production I, Web Design I & II, Animation Foundations, Animation I & II (2D), 3D Graphics & Motion, Interactive Design, and Applied Media Methods.

Adjunct faculty members will be expected to (1) use our course management system (Canvas) and any textbook-specific systems; (2) hold regular office hours to meet with students; and (3) participate in at least one professional development workshop per year.

All classes may be offered day or evening. This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

Essential Functions

  • On a part-time basis, teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • May serve as an academic advisor for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

  • Abachelor's degree in the specific technical fields related to the media production discipline taught: audio, photography, video, animation/motion graphics and/or web production.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in professional media design and production.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • At least one year of teaching experience in a college setting.
  • A Master's degree in the specific media discipline or a related field.
