Job Overview

Project management that requires oversight of design and construction process for multiple complex smaller to medium scope and scale projects across all aspects of the university including educational, athletic, medical, and auxiliary work.

Essential Functions

  • Assume programmed work from planning, hire on consulting Architectural/Engineering firms to produce permit and bid documents, procure construction services, oversee construction, move manage, and readily resolve warranty period issues. Provide oversight of design projects delegated to consulting engineers.
  • Serve as a seasoned project manager. Manage budget control, contract negotiation and execution of material procurement. Plan and administer capital improvement and infrastructure projects and renovations. Review and analyze project cost data and other numeric data.
  • Participate in the development of university and department wide policies and procedures for projects.
  • Follow University methodology of delivering work in compliance with the P+D+C's Project Manager's Manual, OFCC guidelines, and University Standards.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field.
  • Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Five (5) years of related experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Registered Architect or successful completion of NCARB's IDP program leading to ARE eligibility.
  • Registered Professional Engineer or successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam leading to PE exam eligibility.
