The Department of Emergency Medicine. Job Description
The Department of Emergency Medicine within the University of Missouri, School of Medicine is a dynamic, rapidly expanding department, with multiple opportunities to provide high-quality care to patients throughout Missouri. Our highly skilled Advanced Practice Professionals currently provide care in numerous clinical settings including MU Health Care's Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department, several rural Community Emergency departments, Urgent Care facilities, ED Observation unit, and the Occupational Medicine clinic. Our process is to deliver the best care in the least amount of time to ensure all patients served receive excellent and compassionate care as fast and as smooth as possible. Responsibilities may include: *Work collaboratively with physicians and assist in a multidisciplinary practice for the treatment of emergency related diagnosis. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year depending on location. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work during inclement weather will be required. Shift
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Minimum Qualifications
Physician Assistant - Specialty Care: Physician's Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts. Nurse Practitioner - Specialty Care: Master of Science in Nursing degree. Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days. Must be granted a "Document of Recognition" from the Missouri Board of Nursing. Preferred Qualifications
Physician Assistant - Specialty Care: Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Nephrology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. Nurse Practitioner - Specialty Care: Possess a specialty certificate by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB), the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN), the Pediatric Certification Nursing Board (PCNB), or the National Certification Corporation (NCC). Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department. Two years of relevant clinical experience according to the work location the applicant is applying for - including Emergency Medicine, Acute Care/Urgent Care, Intensive Care, and Occupational Medicine. Other relevant clinical experience will be considered dependent upon applicants work location by Emergency Medicine clinical leaders. Anticipated Hiring Range
