Sciences Center, Department of Internal Medicine, has an exciting opportunity
for you!

We are on the lookout for a talented and
enthusiastic faculty member to lead our Division of Epidemiology,
Biostatistics, and Preventive Medicine. As the Division Chief, you will play an
important role in shaping the future of healthcare and research. You will have

The position is open at Open Rank level,
offering you the flexibility to excel in your career trajectory. The Division
Chief will report to the Chair of Internal Medicine; salary and rank will be
commensurate with experience. At the University of New Mexico Health Sciences

Institution Information:
The UNM Health Sciences Center, Division of Epidemiology,
Biostatistics and Preventive Medicine (EBPM) is in the Department of Internal
Medicine. The Division consists of some 20 faculty and 15 staff scientists, and
post-doctoral fellows. The Preventive Medicine Residence Program is part of the
Division, and currently includes 3 full time faculty, and 4 residents.

The EBPM faculty members actively conduct independent research
serving as PIs or Co-PIs. The Division faculty collaborate closely with many
UNM Departments and Centers including the Comprehensive Cancer Center (http://cancer.unm.edu/), the Clinical and
Translational Science Center (http://hsc.unm.edu/research/ctsc/), the three NIH-Funded Centers of Biomedical
Research Excellence, Project ECHO (http://echo.unm.edu),
and the Southwest NIDA Clinical Trials Node (https://hsc.unm.edu/medicine/departments/internal-medicine/academic-divisions/epidemiology/clinical-trials-network/current-projects.html),
among many others. The Division has over $5M in research funding. Further

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in
    Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a closely related field; or M.D. with
    post-graduate training in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or a closely related
    field
  • A strong record of peer-reviewed research publications in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, biomedical and health research
  • Established record of
    extramural funding
  • Eligibility to work in the US

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated administrative leadership experience,
    including: program administration, financial management, and personnel
    management
  • Significant record of
    independent scholarly achievement including successful extramural funding and
    impactful publications
  • Substantive experience
    mentoring early- and mid-career researchers, clinician-researchers, and graduate/medical
  • A demonstrated
    commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well as
    working with broadly diverse communities
