Scope of work

Under the direction of a Nurse, the Critical Care Technician is responsible for direct patient care by incorporating patient-family centered care principles. The Critical Care Technician will provide care according to policies and procedures. Maintains critical care equipment and supplies as directed by unit management. Attends all required Safety Training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety and specific job-related hazards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1 year experience as a nursing assistant
  • American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support certification required
  • Current CAN certification preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately
  • Ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a wide variety of individuals
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology preferred
  • Basic computer knowledge is preferred
  • Ability to move or lift patients and equipment
