Job Description
Location: New York, NYArs Technica is seeking a creative, experienced writer to join our technology coverage team to enhance our coverage of artificial intelligence and "big tech"-specifically, on Google. In this role, you'll own the Google beat, taking the lead on short- and long-form reporting focusing on the ways in which Google's broad and ever-changing portfolio of products affect the world we live in. This starts with reporting on the impactful topics of artificial intelligence and machine learning, but will also include coverage related to innovations in search and data management, cloud technology, and mobile operating systems and devices. This role is 100% virtual and candidates can be based anywhere in the US. Senior Technology Reporter, Google AI & Platforms The Senior Technology Reporter will work with the Ars Technica team to produce features and reports, including news and analysis, in the consumer technology field. We're looking for a subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas:
In addition to daily news coverage, the position will also write occasional long-form pieces on matters of expertise, including product reviews. This is a Guild position. Write regularly on consumer technology news, including but not limited to CPUs, GPUs, PCs, laptops, phones, tablets, smart watches, Internet of Things devices, operating systems, and other gadgets
Qualifications:
This is a guild position. The expected base salary range for this position is from $70,000-$110,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
