CONTEXT Our markets are changing rapidly and so are the needs of our Clients. As we evolve from being a predominantly print based publisher into a truly global, brand focused digital media and entertainment company, our routes to market are becoming more diverse and more complex. This is leading to an increase in the number of different sales models we must maintain and a growth in the complexity of deals we are making. At the same time, this is taking place against a backdrop of rapid change in the regulatory context for digital advertising, marketing, copyright and data laws. In order to respond to these changes, and because we cannot realise the opportunities of the digital marketplace without also managing the risks that are inherent within it, we have created a new and globally integrated approach to legal advice combining skills across all legal disciplines, with a particular focus on: Content and Media Law Digital, Revenue and Consumer Employment and Compliance Corporate and Regulatory PURPOSE In collaboration with colleagues within the Legal & Policy department, you will provide business-oriented legal guidance and strategies for talent relationships across Conde Nast commercial and editorial, while supporting colleagues as needed on other types of branded content transactions and revenue related matters. More specifically, the purpose of your role is to help our commercial and editorial teams deliver their deals, resolve issues arising from these, advise on compliance related to consumer and revenue matters and build long term client relationships. REPORTING LINE This role will report to the Senior Counsel, Revenue. ABOUT CONDE NAST LEGAL The Conde Nast Legal & Policy team is led by the General Counsel and is led from our International HQs in London and New York. Our team also comprises our Legal teams based in our various markets around the world. We are also supported by a network of outside counsel where necessary. Our Purpose The Purpose of the Conde Nast Legal team is to help our business, shareholder and colleagues: Make more informed decisions; Solve and prevent legal and business problems; Conduct business in the right way (and prove that they have done so); Protect their assets, brands and people We achieve our Purpose by: Providing advice and training Resolving issues and disputes Developing legal systems, processes, policies, documents and tools that enable proactive legal risk management Creating and managing legal documents and record records Tracking and monitoring the external legal and policy trends that will shape the Digital, Publishing and Luxury marketplace of the future.
