Job Description:
- As a Network System Administrator, you will be working on cutting edge Navy technology that directly supports the warfighter. This position will be fully onsite with field visits.
Job Duties Include (but not limited to):
- Responsible for performing Systems Administrator duties on designated Navy systems
- Responsible for focusing on cisco switches and routers including configurating, maintaining and upgrading the networks, and troubleshooting
- Responsible for assisting in data cabling, data labeling, and other lab hardware installation procedures
- Responsible for troubleshooting issues and reporting findings.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 2+ years of Network Systems Administration experience
- Experience troubleshooting issues related to Active Directory topology, and related features in a domain environment
- Basic understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, Email, HTTP, SSL, OSI Model, and TCP/IP protocols and applications.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of CISCO switches and routers and Cisco IOS and related protocols
- Expertise in configuring Cisco router and switch commands, including routing protocols, VLANs, QoS, and security features
- Understanding of networking fundamentals. Requires a solid grasp of network concepts like TCP/IP, subnetting, network protocols, and network topology
- Ability to diagnose network problems efficiently and accurately using debugging tools and network analysis techniques.
Desired Skills:
- Taclane and Cisco LISP experience
- Cisco switches & routers
- Ruckus (formerly Brocade) switches
- Fortinet Fortigate firewalls
- Palo Alto firewalls
- VMware NSX-T
Education & Certifications:
- CompTIA Security + and Network + or higher certification (ex. CCNA or CCNP)
