Milwaukee Public Schools is currently seeking DPI licensed School Counselor candidates for full-time one school or split school positions. Selected candidates will be assigned to one school or multiple elementary or middle school locations for the 2024-25 school year. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply. A Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS) counselor provides support services to students, staff, and parents. The duties are focused on the overall delivery counseling program realized through guidance curriculum, individual student planning and responsive services. Additional responsibilities include school programming in Infinite Campus, student rostering/scheduling, maintaining individual student Academic and Career Plans, etc. The school counseling program is offered in an equitable, multi-cultural setting and helps all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development and career development. Interested applicants should complete all sections of the application including the online submission of a current resume. Pending graduates should include a letter from his/her educational institution documenting that he/she has met the requirements for graduation and school counselor certification. Interview panels may request candidates to submit additional items including, but not limited to, letters of recommendation, referrence lists, and/or writing samples. At the time of hire, the selected candidate will need to submit three (3) letters of recommendation dated within the last year and signed by the author and a copy of official transcripts verifying his/her conferred undergraduate and graduate degree, if applicable. Eligible applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a School Counselor (7054) licensed issued by the Department of Public Instruction. Applicants who posses the following characteristics and skills are preferred:
