Join us as our new Application Specialist focused on Product Development

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Application Specialist to join our Applications team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting experiments, the design and development of Fresh Dairy and Dairy Alternatives (plant based) prototype application samples and customer application support.This role requires a strong background in food science, dairy technology, or a related field, along with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Welcome to the Fresh Dairy Application Team

This team is a crucial part of the Global Fresh Dairy and Dairy Alternatives team for our Food & Beverage Biosolutions business unit. Located in the North American regional application center in Milwaukee, WI, we collaborate closely with our global counterparts. Our mission is to provide technical support to our customers, driving new product development and advancing technical competencies. We work daily with the North American sales team to address customer requests and to support global initiatives related to the use and development of enzymatic and biological solutions within the Novenesis portfolio.

In this role you'll make a difference by:




  • Participatingin the design, preparation and creation of Fresh Dairy and Dairy Alternatives prototypes in a pilot lab setting under the supervision of the Applications Lab Manager



  • Providingtechnical support and expertise to customers and account managers incorperating enzyme and/or culture solutions



  • Performinganalysis of fresh dairy and dairy alternative (plant based) products including, but not limited to rheology, enumeration of micro-organisms, texture, microscopic inspection, titratable acidity



  • Participateingin the ISO and HACCP programs for the Pilot Lab ensuring compliance of the programs.



  • Maintainingand organizingdata, lab requisitions and files in the applicable databases.



  • Preparingtechnical documents, technical reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.



  • Contributingto the development of technical literature and marketing materials.





  • Maintaininggood laboratory practices, performs general laboratory housekeeping and consumables inventory management.



  • Collaboratingwith the Global Applications organization



  • Participating in competency development projects




To succeed, you must hold:




  • 3+ years of experience in food science, dairy technology, or related field



  • Ability to read, write and speak English is a requirement of this position.



  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the dairy or food industry



  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international teams and customers



  • Proficient in Microsoft suite. Laboratory software a plus (ELN, SAP, LIMs, Minitab)



  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Food Science or related field



  • Experience developing food/beverage products, specifically Fresh Dairy (yogurts, cream cheese, spreadable products, sour cream) in an industrial enviroment



  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the food industry



  • Prior experience in customer support or technical service roles within the dairy industry



  • ISO and HACCP experience (audits, development of standards, etc.)
