| Position Description: 
 Inserso is seeking an Applications Developer to provide support to our USCG FORCECOM customer located at 301 Main Street Norfolk VA.
 
 Responsibilities
 
 This role will include, but will not be limited to the following responsibilities:
 
 
 
 Designs, implements, and maintains databases with respect to access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methodsApplies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end (e.g., Access)/back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL).Provide day-to-day Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Access development support services, willing to interchange between challenging development work as well as routine tasksAssist with the migration of older non-supported database versions (e.g., MS Access 2003) to currently supported versions (e.g., MS Access 2016)Defining and maintaining an organized file structure and assigning user access rightsTrack and document all problems along with providing recommendations and resolution methods for USCG reviewProvide live/production database and application administration, support and management for approved databases and applications that are based on the locally installed MS Office Suite, as well as SharePoint ServerProvide troubleshooting and resolution of mainly technical errors/failuresOn a routine basis, download reports and/or run ODBC queries from external databases; and import these into the internal databaseOccasionally design Excel-based reports via external data sources; and assist in the design of BI data cubesAssist in the administration of related FORCECOM SharePoint sites, lists and libraries, which includes maintaining and updating existing sites, lists and libraries, setting up new sites, lists, libraries, user groups, and setting permissionsMonitor the host database server/files to ensure maximum performance and availability for usersBe proficient with Microsoft Office technology (including MS Access, SharePoint Designer, Excel and Word) and shall produce documentation and reports using this technology as requested by the government

 Technical Skills
 
 
 
 At least 5-7 years of database engineering, application development experience, centered around Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Access- linking tables from various platforms, designing relational queries, forms, reports, and VBA macros/modulesProficient with Microsoft SQL Server, and knows the concept of relational databases and how to relate tablesBasic Oracle DBA experience a plusFamiliarity with MS Excel 'external data' reporting capabilities, especially working with pivot-tables; and some familiarity working with BI data cubes (Cognos preferred)Basic SharePoint familiarity, especially on designing/configuring lists, libraries and familiarity with the workflow conceptWilling to learn InfoPath Designer if required for future projectsProficient in all Microsoft programs (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
 
 Required Certifications
 
 
 
 Microsoft DBA CertificationSecurity+ Certification within 90 days of hire
