INSTALLATION TECHNICIAN If you enjoy travel and variety while utilizing your strong electro-mechanical skills, become an Install Technician! This position is remote, but involves travel throughout the country to provide installation, retrofit, and routine service to power plants and other facilities. Services are performed at the customer site, including new system installations, modifications to existing systems, startup, repair and training for sample conditioning systems and instrumentation. You will have full-service account ownership for the customers in your territory. - Participate in the execution of install/retrofit project, installation, startup and repair services for online sample systems, sample conditioning systems and instrumentation in the power and other industries to the satisfaction of customers.
- Use established work instructions and methods to provide installation, startup, repair of online sample systems, sample conditioning systems and instrumentation.
- 100% on time service reports to customers.
- Recommend new product and service ideas to best serve our new and existing customers.
- Recommend ways to fill any gaps in schedules and discuss opportunities to provide added value during downtime with Service Supervisor and/or Service Manager.
- Utilize the the established information technology to communicate, deliver reports to customers, manage individual schedules, etc.
- Ability to travel 50-60% or more as needed.
Job Requirements:
- 2-year technical degree (electronics or mechanical) is preferred, or equivalent experience.
- Relevant field experience working within a power plant environment or similar. Experience with steam and water sampling equipment or industrial refrigeration preferred.
- Solid electro-mechanical skills, including electrical control, pumping systems, basic water chemistry, refrigeration, piping (welding, threading), etc.
- Ability to read and understand P&ID and isometric drawings.
- Valid driver's license with Motor Vehicle Records review that satisfies company policy.
- Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs. on industrial catwalks and stairways. Follow safe work practices.
- Ability to travel approximately 50% of the time.
- Strong communication skills - verbal, written, public speaking, customer service
- Strong computer skills required
- Capable of working outdoors in all weather conditions.
