Job Summary: The General Maintenance Technician performs general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in such trades as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work. Work involves a variety of the following duties: replacing or repairing minor mechanical components, replacing or repairing minor electrical components, and replacing or repairing minor plumbing components. Supervision Received Close Supervision: The incumbent is assigned duties according to specified procedure and receives detailed instructions. Work is checked frequently. Supervision: The incumbent performs a variety of routine work within established policies and procedures and receives detailed instructions on new projects and assignments. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to kneel, crawl, stand; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to walk and sit. The employee may frequently lift or move products and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
