Certified Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse - Ankeny Med Park Urgent Care Ankeny, Iowa Shift: Mon/Tues 8a-8p and 1 weekend per month Full-time w/Benefits **$5,000.00 sign on bonus for external candidates!

- Assist healthcare providers with patient assessments, exams, and treatments in a fast-paced urgent care environment.
- Take accurate patient histories, vital signs, and record them in the electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are stocked with necessary supplies and equipment.
- Administer injections, perform venipuncture, and assist with minor procedures (e.g., suturing, wound care) under the supervision of the healthcare provider.
- Perform diagnostic tests such as EKGs, basic lab work, and respiratory treatments.
- Provide patient education and discharge instructions, ensuring they understand their treatment and any necessary follow-up care.
- Assist with triage, prioritizing patient care based on the severity of their condition.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as scheduling follow-up appointments, answering phones, and managing patient flow.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Medical Assistant or current license to practice, LPN, State of Iowa.
- High school diploma.
- BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.
- Prior ambulatory clinic or urgent care experience a plus!
