Job Roles

  • Assist providers in meeting productivity standards through development of efficient patient flow systems that ensure optimal patient flow with patients processed efficiently and walk-ins triaged expediently.
  • Coordinate orientation and training of all nursing personnel. Assist Clinic Director, and/or Nursing Director in the development of training for the nursing staff to include patient education, sharpening of nursing skills, emergency procedures, etc.
  • Ensure patients receive quality care in an effective and timely manner. Ensure nursing staff provide appropriate and complete documentation in all patient records and in all provider/nurse communications.
  • Ensure the crash cart/crash box is checked per policy and that medications and supplies are checked monthly for expiration.
  • Remain in close contact with Clinic Director and/or Nursing Director for information exchange, problem resolution, scheduling, staffing, and other related issues.
  • Participate with management in organizational long-term planning and the development of strategic initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, develop, engage, and retain an accountable workforce. Provide effective counseling/guidance to employees. Administer corrective action promptly when needed.
  • Foster an environment that promotes development and professional growth of employees.
  • Maximize output from subordinates through an effective, supportive management style.
  • Provide leadership and nurse supervision. Ensure all regulatory standards are met or exceeded and adhered to on an on-going basis (TJC, CLIA, DHS - Licensing & Certification, OSHA, etc.)
  • Ensure Mock Codes are conducted according to the annual calendar.
  • Ensure logs are completed appropriately, including temperature logs, autoclave logs, etc. Work cooperatively with other team members in activities related to ensuring health center implementation of all quality concepts, to include infection control program, patient satisfaction, etc.
  • Ensure applicable regulatory and department standards are adhered to in an ongoing basis (The Joint Commission, OSHA, etc.).
  • Lead, educate, coach and mentor others on LEAN continuous process improvement philosophy, tools and application to accomplish organizational goals.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Current California LVN license required.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County, to locations that may have limited access to public transportation; proof of liability and property damage insurance on vehicle used is required. DRIVER REQUIREMENTS: Licensed for a minimum of 3 years; No more than 2 violations and/or accidents within 3 years; No vehicle related suspensions/reinstatements; No DUI, reckless or felony Driving within 7 years.

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)

  • Cultural and linguistic sensitivity to populations served.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • 3 years minimum experience of progressively responsible positions as a supervisor.
  • 3 years minimum experience in community-based clinics, out-patient medical clinics, or work in a hospital setting with indigent care patients.
  • Knowledge of supervisory practices and techniques, including performance management and employee development.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Successful track record of leading and driving positive change through others.

In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share the base range for this position, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses.

64,480.00 - 85,973.33

If you are hired at Family Health Centers of San Diego, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, jurisdictional requirements, skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors - we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is what we reasonably expect to pay for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
