Job Summary/Primary Purpose: The Aquatics Coordinator provides supervisory and administrative support for Aquatics operations and assists in coordinating and executing approved programing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Supports strategies to achieve sustained utilization and excellence in programming to improve sustainability and client satisfaction.
  • Encourages and promotes a culture in which excellent customer hospitality thrives, all guests feel welcome, and events and programming are well attended.
  • Supports Aquatics Management by requesting staff's availability and developing a draft schedule with appropriate shifts to support programing and guard coverage.
  • Provide substitute instruction, supervision, or lifeguarding duties across all shifts as the need arises.
  • Supports aquatics staff in responding appropriately to emergency situations and assures incident report forms are accurately completed, communicating to Manager on Duty and Aquatics Management as required.
  • Supports the development of guards by encouraging skills practice and aquatics knowledge development - assisting in facilitating in-services.
  • Provide recommendations and suggestions on improvement of procedures and/or policies to maintain excellence in safety and processes.
  • Perform regular lifeguard drills during open hours and regular swim lesson evaluations during instruction time as requested by Management.
  • Supports Aquatics Management in monitoring and documenting equipment and water maintenance or repairs and orientation for staff on all Aquatics equipment as needed. Assists in maintaining current inventory documentation.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation of certifications, in-service drills, and trainings to comply with all state, local, and TSA regulations.
  • Respond appropriately to announced and unannounced audits.
  • Supports Aquatics Management in tracking key performance indicators and statistics for the Aquatics department.
  • Provides supervision and direction to Aquatics staff in the absence of Aquatics management.
  • All other duties as assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities: The Aquatics Coordinator, acting as the supervisor in charge, shall assist in overseeing all aquatics staff including, Aquatics Lead, Aquatics Specialists, Lifeguards and Aquatics Attendants.

Education and/or Experience:



  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience in supervising aquatics facilities and programs.
  • Prefer at least 1 year of experience in teaching a variety of aquatics programs and lessons.
  • Working knowledge of general safety guidelines in aquatics environments required.
