Surgical Technologist

PRN (0.01 FTE), Part-Time (0.6 FTE), and Full-Time (0.8 - 1.0 FTE) Available

Varied/Days (Shifts include 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, & 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM)

About the OR:

• The three Quad City campuses feature 16 OR suites, 2 open heart rooms, and 2 urology rooms, all equipped to handle a wide range of surgical procedures in specialities such as cardiothoraic, vascular, robotics, orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, neurosurgery, urology, podiatry, and cataracts.
• During orientation, UnityPoint Health offers a structured orientation. Additionally, we offer development and professional grown opportunites through continued educational learnings.

Duties:

• Assures correct identification of patient prior to procedure
• Assists circulating nurse with patient care
• Prepares room for surgical case by getting necessary supplies/equipment
• Follows departmental plan for room prep and room turnaround

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology. If not a graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology, then equitable experience with documentation of similar training. Surgical technologist certification required; or obtained within 1 yar of graduation or eligibility to sit for the exam.

License(s)/Certification(s):

• CPR certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTA or obtained within 1year of graduation or eligibility to sit the exam.
