We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our 100% EMPLOYEE-OWNED team.

First Shift: Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:00pm

Minimum Job Requirements


  • Physical- Must be able to move about the shop floor with or without accommodation, must be able to use a computer and keyboard.
  • Working Hours- Fulltime Employment (40+ hours/week)
  • Personal Traits- Great communication skills, professional and positive team attitude. Good organizational skills.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for preparing electronic documentation as directed to be used on the shop floor describing and illustrating instructions on how to build a part along with applicable quality requirements.


  • Work with shop personnel to document manufacturing procedures employed to manufacture a given part.
  • Take pictures and document as appropriate to describe the quality requirements of the part to ensure that operators can assess parts to ensure that parts consistently meet those quality requirements.
  • Input the documentation into the Visual Knowledge Share (VKS) system.
  • Meet deadlines imposed by the Engineering Manager, Vice President of Operations and Business Development.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Must have strong English writing skills.
  • Ability to understand shop procedures and be able to document them into a narrative along with illustrative photos.
  • Some experience with a manufacturing software application preferred.
  • Good organization skills.
  • Excellent communication, skills ability to effectively interface with shop personnel.
  • Good computer skills, including experienced in the use of Word.
  • Ability to work well with others.


Education and Experience


  • High school diploma or equivalent. Experienced in writing manuals or other technical documentation and a college degree is preferred.
