Position Summary
Organization: New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation Location: 7400 Tiburon NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award Essential Job Functions: Assistance with planning and implementing security measures to protect computer systems, networks and data Stay up-to-date on the latest intelligence, including hackers' methodologies, to anticipate security breaches Assist with reviewing Security Scans and assigning Threat Levels for appropriate Patch Management Cycles Assist with preventing data loss and service interruptions by researching new technologies that will effectively protect a network. Review DLP, SIEM, Anti-Virus, Malware, and other Cyber Security logs Basic understanding of mainstream operating systems and a wide range of security technologies, such as network security appliances, anti-malware solutions, automated policy compliance tools, and desktop security tools is preferred Basic knowledge of network traffic alerts to assess, prioritize and differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms Basic understanding of current cyber threats Assist with key project(s) and other projects assigned Meet deadlines for project deliverables Recommend process improvements Gain valuable work experience and prepare for future career Other Day-to-day department responsibilities as assigned

Position Requirements/Qualifications: Enrolled in an accredited college or university studying one of the following disciplines: Computer Science, Cyber / Information Security, or Computer Information systems. Skills/Abilities: Reliable and punctual Organized with a strong attention to detail Ability to take direction and understand quickly Detail oriented, responsible, and discrete Ability to communicate effectively in a positive fashion, both in oral and written form Drive to deliver quantifiable results Ability meet deadlines and work under pressure Skill in building trusting relationships and partnerships throughout the organization Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated clarity in spoken and written communications Ability to work well as part of team Trustworthiness with access to confidential information Proficiency in Microsoft Office
